So looking for last bit of advice from those who have come across or implemented a solution to get day/night mode to work.....
I used a TSL2561 sensor and was ok but realised I wanted to keep things simple (trying to sleek out my lcd display design) and so looking at utilising my stock radio illumination wire to activate day/ night mode!!!
Setup:
RPi 4 4gb
CarPiHat Pro (Comes with built in DAC pro)
Ugreen Bluetooth adapter
USB microphone
3a powered usb hub (powered through a buck converted wired directly into cabin fuses)
OEM 7" Pi LCD
Came across another thread > Headlight Thread which is exactly what I am looking for!!! However after implementing instructions and following the youtube video this is based on I can only get the screen to blink when I turn my headlights on and does nothing... I have wired the illumination pin on the HAT (which is BCM13) to my stereo illum wire and in the script put the switched gpio to 13...
The in OAP software on DAY/Night settings set the system to switch based on GPIO 13.
Am I missing somethin here? So close to getting this function working.
P.S I am writing a comprehensive guide on my setup to help others where I have struggled, cause once you know it is quite straight forward and what Bluewave/ Daniel have setup here is awesonme.
