Hello. I'm a complete noob, when it comes to rasbian os and coding, and after googling and trying to figure things out on my own I've admitted defeat and am seeking advice.
So, I made the mistake of buying a waveshare 5,5inch amoled display, which is a pain in the ass to work with, due to having portrait display mode as standard. I need to adjust this, so it shows in landscape. This I've managed to do through rasbian os settings but touch needs to be adjusted. Then I try to do this as the wiki for the screen tells me to, but I can't save any of the changes I've made. See text below.
I've been trying to edit files on my rasberry pi 4b through rasbian with a keyboard, touchscreen and mouse, but I keep getting error messages such as operation not permitted and can't open file to save. Primarily I've been trying to get the cursor visible to aid with making modifications. I've used run command: bwscursor show, which does nothing and also tried editing lightdm.conf file and removing -nocursor, but there I run into the problem of not being able to save. I've also tried accessing the file by using command sudo nano etc/lightdm/lightdm.config and saving through there, but no dice, same error message appears.
I noticed that dtoverlay folder is in read only mode when looked at in windows 10, but read only mode can't be disabled.
I then checked if overlay file system was enabled in rasbian os, and it wasn't.

The waveshare screen also shows a "dotted rainbow/white" screen for a couple of seconds upon startup and then changes to openauto pro, which works normally. (minus portrait mode due to poor screen choice) The values given in the wiki page for the screen only make the the startup sequence worse, so I decided to not even put them in the config.txt file.
So in conclusion any advice on how to modify and successfully save files would be appreciated. Does openauto have some sort of read only mode that can be disabled enabled etc, which may be causing these issues? And maybe some Ideas on how to get rid of the white rainbow dotted mess or whatever it's called upon startup. I doesn't quite fit in with the otherwise undoubtedly high level of quality in my Saab.
