Any chance we can use a Nintendo Switch laying around as a substitute for a RPI + Touchscreen? I don't see why not.
If you have a Switch that can be put into RCM mode (I think most Switches now-a-day can), you can boot Ubuntu L4T and run it stable.
Using Ubuntu L4T, the Switch can use all of the it's native features including bluetooth, wifi, touchscreen etc.
Advantages of using a Switch?
1. Built in touchscreen, bluetooth, wifi, remote controls.
2. Can run on pure battery power for decent amount of time making it highly portable.
3. Ease of installation, no buying/wiring touchscreens.
4. Decent specs, very responsive.
Cons
1. Lacks HDMI support on handheld mode (rear camera may be out of the question)
2. Expensive if you don't already have one around the house.
3. Not all consoles are compatible (unsure about this)
I'd be willing to use my Switch and try to get it to work with the dev team if they are interested
