    In ini file you store configuration of the controller_service. Ini file has nothing to do with number of run controller_service instances. You run controller_service instance using /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart file. If you want to configure e.g. two rotary encoders differently, then you must create two ini files with desired configuration and run two controller_service instances that use created ini files by adding command

    controller_service /path/to/your/controller_service.ini

    to the /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart file.

    OK, I think I understand ... the ini file must always be called controller_service. right.? so I create two folders with the respective files and paste the path to them. Sorry, I thought too far I think. have not done anything with Linux or rpi for a long time

    I think I described it as good as possible to run multiple rotary encoders. I have actually 3 rotary encoders running at the same time. One for volume, one for media and one for navigating through the menu but you need 3 DIFFERENT .ini files
