First things first, thanks for 5.0! I love it. It's clean and operates pretty flawlessly.
My only complaint is the considerably longer boot time on the pi3b+. I know not much can be done to remedy this, I'm assuming it's just a symptom of aging hardware and versioning-up software. I am thinking about upgrading my pi to a pi 4.
A few notes about my setup: 1986 1st gen 4runner, only using the two dash speakers and not likely to ever need anything other than the cheap USB sound card (Top is removed and hasn't been on in many years). Hard-wired power, my pi-3 has board-soldered power lines. 7-in touchscreen semi-permanently attached to the stock dash bezel. Analogue volume know because it's fun and retro.
Thanks for any thoughts!

- What are the general thoughts and consensus on this before I spend the cash and time replacing?
- Is there a considerable improvement in boot time?
- Which variant of Pi 4 gets me the best bang for buck? Do I need to splurge on the max ram version?
- Are there any issues with the RPi-branded 7in screen?
