How ever have two issues.
First off tried to OAP to connect to a bluetooth speaker / car no issues.
But cant get it to connect to high profile so audio is very distorted tried 3 adaperts inbuild and a qualcoam one and a CSR with the same results.
Tried messing with pulseaudio to no avail.
Then tried a pure install of the latest rpi image and all adpters work on first try by just connecting to the speakers/car with no manual config and audio is superb.
So seems to be an pulse audio issue since pure rpi image just uses alsa. (Any thoughts??)
Second one isent rly an issue or kinda/questiion...
With an pure rpi image the interface has a bigger dpi with is alot easier to navigate on the touchscreen(This would be nice )
But however even with all its bell and whistles the touchscreen interface feels like about 4 times as faster/responsive when you do/click/write a command, how is that?
Running it on an RPI3+
Got exectly the same problem... strangly using crankshaft ng no problems at all with bluetooth and external qualcomm adapter...
Getting the feeling this open source project is more kind of a waste of money...
Bluetooth functionality is handled by Raspbian OS, not by OpenAuto Pro. If something does not work it looks like it is not supported by Raspbian itself. If it works on stock Raspbian image but not with OpenAuto Pro image - it clearly states that you misconfigured something. So first of all we recommend to double check the configuration.
OpenAuto Pro is independent on hardware - it is user responsibility to check the compatibility of used hardware and configuration.
That would be perticulair because openauto pro is a fork of openauto (crankshaft ng) isn't it? In crankshaft everything just works fine with al the hardware specially bought for the openauto project .... that said CSR and qualcomm are out of the box supported in linux with package libbluetooth-dev. and also already installed on openauto image just as raspbian... but stil it doesn't work as in raspbian official image. so there is something changed under the hood or something is broken...
Just as the fact that my HIFIberry won't settup as i do exactly the same steps on every build!
OpenAuto Pro is not a fork of OpenAuto. Crankshaft is nothing more than precompiled open source version of OpenAuto with bunch of shell scripts. As we suggested in previous post - if something does not work for you please double check the configuration. In our reference setups we use CSR Bluetooth dongles without any additional configuration. Something definitely is wrong with configuration of your setup.
Regarding HiFiBerry - it is a known issue (on HiFiBerry side) that it does not work well with Pulse Audio. In that case please contact HiFiBerry support. From our side we strongly recommend to use USB sound card that works of out of the box, provides the same (or higher) quality, is equipped with microphone input and is 10 times cheaper than HiFiBerry.
Just to summarise and clear all your doubts:
-OpenAuto Pro uses only software available on the official Raspbian OS apt repository
-OpenAuto Pro uses stock Raspbian OS linux kernel
-OpenAuto Pro does not use any additional drivers except these available in Raspbian OS
We fulfil all of above points just to provide as high compatibility as possible. Scenario when some hardware works on stock Raspbian OS but not with OpenAuto Pro image is impossible. Everything is a matter of configuration.
