Android Auto not connecting - Chaminda13 - 06-27-2020

Hi
I can get android auto to connect with my phone. Tried a few times, different phones etc..
Nothing happens - When I click USB (under android auto) it doesn't seem to have even detected the phone (Nothing under Udev either)

Also, the program crashes a lot (even when the phones not connected). Either just freezes or goes back to the Pi desktop 
Here's my setup

Pi3b
Open auto pro 9
IQAudio Pi-DAC+
USB microphone
USB Bluetooth adapter (CSR chip)


Phone
Samsung S9 , Android 10 
Android Auto 5.3.501644

Looks like log file has not been attached. What power supply do you use? Did you try connecting phone with another cable? Did you try setting different USB configuration on your phone(e.g. file transfer)? What do you mean by crashes?

I couldn't attached the file - Seems to give an error

I've tried different cables, Also went into USB setting and set it to File transfer (under developer options)
I'm using a standard 2.5a power supply

From provided logs looks like phone is even not detected at USB bus. Looks like an issue with USB on PI or phone side. Did you try with another PI or phone?

I've tried it on 2 different Pis, 2 different phones

Any idea why the program crashes a lot? I haven't even connected the phone,, just browsing menus when it crashes. Also quite slow to respond when naviagating menus

We asked in previous post what do you mean by crashing. What screen do you use? What resolution? Please post content of /boot/config.txt file.

Please not that Waveshare screens are not compatible with latest Raspberry PI OS version because they cannot be used with FKMS GPU driver. Disabled FKMS driver will lead to FPS drop and interface slowness that you mentioned. The only way is to replace screen with compatible one.

I'm using the HDMI output - using a normal computer screen as my test bench. Using a wireless keyboard/mouse.

Crashing - I would click on a menu option and it would get stuck/frozen.. I have to disconnect the power and reconnect it.

Please lower the resolution. Raspberry PI 3B has very limited GPU resources and amount of RAM.

I tried disabling IQaudio  (also Disabled the onboard Bluetooth). reduced the resolution to 480p

I still can't get android auto to connect. UDEV doesn't' seem to detect it.
On one occasion I got a an error "Couldn't find matching udev device" then crashed.
