Skoda Fabia Mk2 2011 1.2 HTP - Rydema - 08-16-2019

Good Morning everyone!

Hope we are all well! So this has been a while in the making and it's almost finished.

So this is my RPI3 - It actually utilises the casing from the original Skoda Swing Radio (Bought on ebay faulty) and just ripped out the insides of it. Inside the casing the RPI is mounted to the screen where the casing has been machined out and bolted to stop any movement, I also have angled USB's so it doesn't put strain on the cables. It runs a USB Soundcard which runs a 99p microphone and speakers which goes into a ground loop box (to reduce static & noise generated by pi and soundcard) which then goes into my 50w amp. It also has a power stepper which makes it so the pi isn't overpowered and a manual kill switch (located under the radio in the plastic). All this is also powered from the original Power connection so no additional cabling needed in the car!

Just need to finish up the face plate. Oh and the software also runs Pulseeffects on startup to give me my EQ

Nice! Good job mate, like from me Wink

We are waiting for CAN support, so consider extending Pi with pican2 interface for example ?

PI-Can I gather is an OBD Reader module ?

No, it allows you for direct CAN integration, what is cool. It allows you for ex. to read anything from your car or send messages to FIS display on your cluster

This is what I'm using: http://skpang.co.uk/catalog/pican2-canbus-board-for-raspberry-pi-23-p-1475.html
Which is rather basic board, there are also boards with 12V power supply (supports 1A, rather too little for our projects), RTC and GPS or even accelerometer
