just to confirm, if I install a GPS module on Rpi, will it still use phone GPS for navigation?

Google Maps on AA will use the auxiliary GPS (the one on RPI), but I think waze does not.

Requested the update originally (with required detail) and got a reply directing me to the how to request an update page... and that was back in July.

Now in September, I've tried again and so far no reply... emailed asking for the update on the 10th.

Any ideas?

Hello, probably you sent a request in a mail-chain instead of create a new message. It is mentioned in update instructions.

Hello, I am experiencing the same issue.

When using Waze on AA of the Peugeot 208 of my gf, I have no issue with speed or GPS accuracy. Her radio is a Bosch radio from Peugeot on which we added a cheap GPS under the plastic dashboard just to enable AA.

However, in my car using OAP, I have the same speed issue than you but also some "jumps". My setup is using an external good quality GPS installed right under the windshield (so it shouldn't have accuracy issue compared with the Peugeot). I am wondering if it is possible that Waze is adding the speeds of the phone GPS and the external GPS and kind of switching back and forth between both which could explain the jumps.

Without external GPS, Waze doesn't detect my phone GPS while Maps has no issues at all using it.

I hope someone finds a solution for this. It would be perfect to be able to use Waze on AOP like any other AA solution.

Whether the apps use the GPS offered by OAP (headunit) is upto each apps implementation and iirc, OAP has no say in whether they do or not influence it.

I asked similar question a while back, and sadly its upto the inner workings on AA, which runs on the phone, and OAP is simply a fancy display/monitor for it
