Assembling BWS CAR PS in the car
We would like to show you how our power supply works in the car. Our target is easy: connect Raspberry PI 3 to power supply installation of the car and detect ignition state.
What we have: The Raspberry PI 3 with Touchscreen, BWS CAR PS, cable with fuses and of course, a car
Assembling is easy – you have to find out where in your car is Battery+, Battery- and Ignition +12V. In this case we are connected to fuses box:
On the Raspberry PI 3 side you have to connect USB cable and STANDBY (STBY) signal (RPI GPIO3, pin 5):
BWS CAR PS V1 can be used as an efficient power supply for the single board computers like Raspberry PI. Please note that software debounce functionality might be necessary. Reference implementation can be found at Rpi script for BWS CAR PS
To download files you can use: wget https://www.bluewavestudio.io/resources/bws-ps-installer.tar
To unpack you can use: tar -xvf bws-ps-installer.tar
Unpack folder, go into it and type:
sudo bash bws-ps-install.sh
Check if service is running: service bws-ps status
