Hi
It looks like HeadUnit Reloaded have solved the need to have the head unit server running:
HUR was updated recently to allow for "proper" wireless AA, meaning without having to start the HU server. That requires the device on which HUR is installed to have WiFi hotspot capability though, and a separate small apk to be installed in the phone. Right now it's experimental but might work for you https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/android-4-1-headunit-reloaded-android-t3432348
Incoming connection Mode (HUR 4.5 and higher) - Only works if you're phone is running Pie or higher/or your tablet/headunit has an active data connection
This would be a great addition!
Thanks

Quote:
- Enable the option in HUR settings
- Restart HUR (this will automatically turn on the hotspot on device which run's HUR)
- Install HU-Starter.apk on the phone, open it, select the car's BT adopter and enter the car's Wifi SSID
- Turn on and off the BT on the phone (this needs to be done once after the install if the phone's already connected to the car's BT)
This would be a great addition!
Thanks
