Raspbian/OAP not filling screen

Post by BryWr » Tue Mar 12, 2019 3:26 pm

Hi there, having a strange bug.

I have a 7" touchscreen (800x480) and just switched to OAP (loving it). When I am in Raspbian/OAP, the interface does not fill the entire screen, yet touches register as if it was filled. This caused me to have to touch about a fingertip above/below the desired action. Such as if I want to hit the "HOME (circle) button in OAP, I have to touch the blank space below it for the touch to register. Or if I want to get into the Raspbian menu, I have to touch just above it.

When I am in AndroidAuto, however, everything is perfect, The screen gets filled and all touches are registered properly.

By no means, not unusable, but it would be nice to fix. I have a few pics as reference, one has a red mark for where I have to touch for a certain action, a yellow line for screen edge, and a blue for the actual edge. https://imgur.com/a/D9eTF2y

Any help is greatly appreciated! TIA!

Hello,
Could you please post a vendor of your screen? It looks like you need to adjust overscan settings. Please take a look at this page https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... t/video.md

Parameters that you need to adjust are

Code: Select all

overscan_left
overscan_right
overscan_top
overscan_bottom

Thank you!

The overscan settings worked. I set all 4 parameters to "-32" and it's perfect now.

My touchscreen is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071X ... UTF8&psc=1
