Multitouch support

Post by Vitalic » Thu Feb 28, 2019 9:14 pm

Hi,

as I've just seen in your promo video for 3.2, your screen accepts multitouch. Which controller is on the touchpanel? Or which display do you use?

I use an innolux display with a touchpanel on top with a GT911 IC. This is connected to an I²S to usb board and this is connected to the pi. It works out of the box, no settings necessary. I know it could handle up to 10 touchpositions. But right now multitouch is not working, Maybe a raspbian driver problem.

Do you use oem raspberry pi display with touch?

Btw in mirroring multitouch works. But not in AA e.g. maps.

That means to me that the panel and the gt911 are working with the pi.

Is multitouch supported in AA with original pi touchdisplay and AA maps?

We did some tests with sending multi-touch signals to the Android Auto frontend. Signals were caught correctly but no multi-touch action was triggered. Also we haven't seen any official implementation of AA that supports multi-touch.

Well, this implementation has multitouch support (in maps):

And i think Emil can give you some tips/hints to implement this. He also already gives you some hints:

I have a 2016 Hyundai Elantra and pinch to zoom on the built in AA system results in the map zooming in our out.
So looks like its possible in OEM solutions, so I have hope we can make it work...

Thanks for confirmation. There is now a point for further investigation.
