Corsa D 2008

Post by JYewman » Mon May 13, 2019 11:07 am

Here is my OpenAuto Pro project. I have completely replaced the headunit and display with OpenAuto. I have a Raspberry Pi 3 B running the system, connected to a USB Soundblaster card which is in turn connected to a 4-channel speaker amp. I am using a 7-inch touch screen for the display which is connected via HDMI and USB.

I have connected the original headunit volume control to the Raspberry Pi to allow me to easily change the volume using the rotary encoder.

For power, I am using 2 12v to 5v step-down converters, one for the display and one for the Raspberry Pi.

I plan to add a safe shutdown system very soon as currently I manually shutdown the Pi before I turn off the car. I am also working on CAN-Bus decoding to allow me to read the steering wheel controls, vehicle speed, engine revolutions, fuel, etc...

Just perfect. Your project is excellent example how much you can do with OpenAuto Pro if you spend some time on setup and configuration.

Clean installation, great fit of touch screen. Thanks for sharing. :)
