    Hello,

What do you mean by terminating Android Auto session? Mirroring feature is disabled when Android Auto projection is active - this is forced by Android Auto behavior. The only way to terminate the Android Auto session is replugging the phone.

Regarding resolution problems, please refer to our user guide where you can find instructions how to calculate it properly.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

With terminating I mean also exiting the AndroidAuto session + closing down AndroidAuto Pro, going back to Raspbian, but with the phone still connected to USB. When starting up again Mirroring won't work. The workaround is to Disable autostart of Android Auto in the settings and start Mirroring before starting Android Auto.

As for resolution, I followed the manual:

    - Galaxy S7 is running FHD, 1920x1080 > aspect ratio 1.78

    - Pi screen resolution is 800x480 > aspect ratio 1.67

    - Desired mirroring resolution: 1280x720 (HD)

    - Calculated resolution: 1280x720 > (1280/1920) * 1080 = 720, aspect ratio 1.78

The 1280x720 does not give me full screen, only partial. I also tried:

    - 1920x1080, ratio 1.78

    - 1024x576, ratio 1.78

    - 800x450, ratio 1.78 > can't be set through the menu, lowest value is 480

In the manual, the screen's aspect ratio (1.67) is not taken into account at all, but I also tried pi screen ratios:

    - 1800x1080, ratio 1.67

Nothing seems to make a difference, please help.

Update: Setting the phone to full WQHD resolution, 2560x1440 (aspect ratio 1.78) does actually result in a full screen. So some sort of scaling seems to be applied? Full WQHD resolution is not preferred though, since it has a big impact on performance and drains the battery.

When Android Auto session is started, phone itself changes USB connection mode. With Android Auto connection mode it is impossible to start the mirroring (that requires active debugging) so physical USB disconnection is needed.

In case of resolution, seems that your phone is doing additional scaling which behavior may be undefined.

    Hi,

I have issue use mirroring my phone.

It is Huawei P10 Lite. Debugging mode is enabled and when I click to start mirroring black screen appear on OpenAuto. Then when I click on a touch screen on OpenAuto head unit it is recognized click and provide action like an open app on phone. Looks like the phone is successfully connected just I can't see anything on OpenAuto screen.

Any idea what I should change to start mirroring my phone

    Thanks

    Thanks for quick response...

Yes, I have connected external sound card and microphone. I have no issue start android auto with same phone and everything is working correctly there. Also power supply should be powerful enough. No lightning on the screen. As I read this thread before I tried unplug and plug again mobile phone after I successfully started android auto and start mirroring. But no luck. I also tested some other older android phones with similar results.

    Thanks

Huawei phones does not support screen mirroring. Huawei decided to cut-off all mirroring components available on AOSP and replace it by it's (closed, proprietary) own. This information is stated at OpenAuto Pro user guide.

    Thanks BlueWave,

Any idea why is this not working with Motorola Moto G? Motorolas are not mentioned in your user guide.

    Thanks
