1. Open auto available in a wider format/ screen than the 7"
2. Availability to NOT autostart openauto on RPI startup
3. possibility to connect a phone using USB-C type connected phone
Thanks

Thank you all for sharing your opinion. We will take it into account during planning. We do not want to focus on minor things like putting custom logo at the system start - you can do it on your own. It is also possible to remove OAP from autostart and it is obvious that USB-C is supported. Changes in BWS CAR PS hardware are very unlikely. Developing of online update system is time consuming, complicated and required a lot of tests. This and fact that it was not popular way of updating OAP, we decide to move implementation of this feature. We would like to focus on We are going to provide As you can see, as first feature we are going to provide Very likely all of this come with internal RPI BT Comming soon: External GPS SDR FM radio Camera support ODB information and more... In case you have other ideas and expectations from

I guess if we are still looking to make of OA pro the one solution for retrofitting car we should think of 1. adding the possibility to use mirror link 2. enable a mode where one could continue to use the RPI in // with the OA - this woudl extend the range of applications.

Ad 2 what do you mean here? You can write your own apps and put then in the launcher. Do you want to display OAP in parallel with another software? Could you describe some user story?

I posted in the thread on the crankshaft reddit about features I would like to see. I am quite pleased with what this project is looking to accomplish, because as much as I like crankshaft (i've been using it in my car as a HU replacement for over 6 months!), I feel that it's starting to reach a bit of a wall. For me to move away from crankshaft and use this product, here is what I would like to see integrated (some you have already mentioned) - - backup cam support. In crankshaft you can simply tell the software what GPIO pin the cam is connected to, and it will auto-trigger. I think this is already in your plans so that's great. I consider my backup cam an essential feature. - shutdown delay. Another thing crankshaft has that I really like having. I have a delay off timer that starts timing when my ignition is turned off. Instead of instantly turning off the pi when ignition is off, my timer times for 1 hour before shutting down, which means that if I do something outside of my car quick (like pump gas etc), my pi will stay running so I can avoid the long boot time. I have a script that turns off the pi screen off with ignition off so it appears like the pi isnt' running. - native hfp/bt calling using an external bt module. This feature is missing from crankshaft and would be huge if you can get it to work. - switch between day/night mode via GPIO trigger. This probably already exists, but if not, this is an easy one. Outside of these essential features, would be cool to have mirrorlink, as someone else suggested. Android Auto is great but it's quite limiting, as we all know. Also, the hardest part would be finding ways to optimize boot time. You keep great adding features, but if the thing takes an entire minute to boot, that makes it tough use as a daily driver.

We are happy to announce that starting from version 3.0 (currently in public Beta) we added support for HFP, A2DP and network profiles over Bluetooth.
This is also possible with little help of a simple scripting. It was discussed in

Ad 1 would be great Ad 2 User story - trying to retrofit an existing car (whose instrument cluster is dead) with OAP. Then I would like to share on one part navigation + users specific info, on the other part car specific data. So to say having AndroidAuto/Mirrorlink/OAP on one side of my screen, on the other side my selected car dashboard displaying (RPM/SPEED/FUEL CAP/FUEL CONS/...etc..) I believe those options would make of OAP, a much desirable product. Thanks
