Hello everyone, after researching on and off for the last few months I still am very confused about how to get the pi hooked up to the car audio system.
I have a 4b and just ordered a carpihatpro. The carpihatpro does not state what kind of audio jack it has but Im assuming since theres only one jack it must be a 3.5mm.
It looks like 99% of those running openauto install an aftermarket amplifier and run 2 rca's from the sound card to the amp. However, I have a JBL system and dont feel like a new amp is an option (I dont want to lose the stock amp dsp to the 13 speakers).
So I have come up with a few possible solutions:
1. Use a 4 way 3.5mm to RCA splitter cable and a Alpine Mini Amp. The RCA goes to the mini amp and the mini amp has a regular car stereo harness that I will wire into the factory harness: https://www.amazon.com/Arklove-Shielded-...JQA3HVLZEN&keywords=3.5%2C%2C%2Bto%2Brca%2B4%2Bchannel&sprefix=3.5%2C%2C%2Bto%2Brca%2B4%2Bchannel%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-6&th=1 + https://www.amazon.com/Alpine-KTP-445U-U...U43ANPVOZI&keywords=alpine+ktu+445&s=electronics&sprefix=alpine+ktu+445%2Celectronics%2C161&sr=1-3
2. I could try taking the cable above, cut off the ends and splice into the factory harness.
Any thoughts? Has anyone tried anything similar?
