Now, the last part of the question is what is "Controlling Gear Status" all about? The python script calls it "rear gear" status. At first I thought it may imply reverse as used by the backup camera. But that is not it.
So what does "Rear Gear Status" mean??

I have integrated the PhoneStatus into my FM radio to mute when a phone call is received.
AudioFocusPlay.py If the internal media play is playing something this script is run, the play will stop. Then if you click play in the media player, a message is printed by the script saying:
stop audio stream, lost focus type: 1 It I will use this on my fm raadio to stop the ap so when media player is started, I don't have 2 simultaneous audio streams.
