Hi, looking at using this display for my system - I'm limited by height, but at least this display is 1920x1080 and it has a touch screen.
Any thoughts?

I'm looking for one as well. The official rpi screen is too outdated for 2021, I think.

I've purchased this one as it's full HD (1920x1080p) and fits in the space I have available. I'd like to go for a wide screen option, but I'm limited by space and can't justify the extra $$$

The screen is quite thin, so I wouldn't mount the board to the back of it. However, I will probably end up making a frame that houses both the RPi & the screen.

Basil.fp, one caveat about that display (that you probably know by now because your last post was a while ago) is that it's horizontally polarized in the horizontal orientation. That means polarized sunglasses will basically make it look black (because they are vertically polarized, in that they filter out horizontally polarized light). Otherwise that is a very nice display.

I haven't tried using it while wearing sunglasses yet, but thanks for that.

How is this screen while driving during the day? Im currently using the RPI screen but it has too much glare and isnt bright enough at times.

I'm getting this one after I smashed my new rpi 7" screen trying to sand the sides down The biggest issue with that one you listed is the side entry plugs for an in dash job. |
