Hey everyone,
Just did a fresh install of OpenAuto Pro 12. I'm using a generic BT adapter (non-broadcom) along with a UGreen USB audio adapter. I'm connecting with a Pixel 2 XL via BT and Wifi. Reason for the reinstall is because I wanted to use BT for audio to maintain the steering controls.
The phone will connect fine along with the wifi connection and OA boots up. I can do the initial pairing of my Sync BT system (screenshots show Soundcore which I've been using for testing), it connects and then disconnects. When you try to connect again from the tray it says to use the audio menu to connect. There is nothing in there I can select to switch to BT. After a while I found THIS post, reply #6, which installed Bluetooth Manager. From there I could right click the BT device and choose Audio Sink and it connects to the BT speaker and works from there. There are a few issues though.
When it boot Bluetooth Manager starts up and constantly shows the message in pic 1. It continues to spawn non-stop no matter how many times I X out the window. What I've been doing is opening the BT Manager menu, selecting "Recent Connections" and choosing "Audio Sink on SoundCore 2." Pic 2. BT speaker then connects. From there I right click the BT Manager icon and choose "Exit." Pic 3. This closes all the windows from Pic 1 it spawned. After that I need to go to PulseAudio and change the playback option to SoundCore 2 for it to work. Pic 4.
I'm assuming I'm going about this all wrong. If so what is it? Otherwise, is there a way to achieve this without having to go through all these steps and have it start this way automatically? My guess is no which is why I'm hoping I'm just missing something.
