Splash Screen in OpenAuto Pro
#51
Good afternoon,

Can anyone convert this youtube video to .h264 format?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I45eE4NOQ_c
The resolution is 800x480 and I wish I could put the Renault logo on my Clio when OpenAuto Pro is starting

Thank you very much in advance

I have managed to do it myself through the raspberry and I enclose the result for people who want to save work and put the Renault logo on their car

Howdy everyone - I love the splash screen edits I'm seeing. I'm terrible with graphics and such, so if anyone would like to make one with a Mustang logo it would be much appreciated lol. Installing OAP in my '67 Mustang should turn some heads. Thanks in advance!

We can, i just threw it into premiere pro (any video editor should work) made each image 2 frames long and rendered as mp4 then used ffmpeg to make .h264 and bam. i even made mine purple since i prefer purple to honda red

I made a Corvette boot animation if anyone else is looking for one.  I used the C8 boot animation but I'll be using this in my C7.  The YouTube video is a raw h264 video file so any YT downloader can get the file.

I have created an quick custom splash screen for my Audi i would like to share with you guys.

If anyone else have some splash screens to share please add them here so we can gather it all in one thread.

How to use:
  1. Move/copy the .h264 file "/usr/share/openautopro" -directory.
  2. Create an backup of the original service file "sudo cp /etc/systemd/system/openautopro.splash.service /etc/systemd/system/openautopro.splash.service.bk"
  3. Edit the service file "sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/openautopro.splash.service"
  4. Change enviroment variable to match the name of the .h264 file e.g. "Environment="OPENAUTO_SPLASH_VIDEOS=/usr/share/openautopro/audi_splash.h264"
  5. Reboot and enjoy.
HPETERSEN - I am very confused as I am not a great coder, just a beginner but how do you get the file in the actual directory, there has to be more steps than that it is not allowing me to do certain things becuase of permissions how do I get around?
