FM is still under development.

How is the testing going with the FM radio support?
Does it look like the hardware that @namatek recommended is going to work? I would really love to put OpenAuto in my daily driver, but with no FM radio support it's a no go. Would love to know how the progress is going with this feature.

@Chrisfromwa feature is still under development, not in testing phase. So far we cannot provide any delivery date.

We know that things look easy when you are the author of the hardware/firmware but few pieces of code at semi-wiki page is not enough to fully handle your module. Right now it is not possible to use your module without any 3rd party/closed source components or at least it is not described in the documentation how to do it. We do not want to introduce to our software any closed source components for several reasons like security or licensing.

- Yes there is some closed source part involved, there's also a bunch of firmware included. The API shadows quite some complex part.
- If something is unclear you will have to point it out. If there's no interest in it it's not a problem either, after all it's your project and you make up the rules.

I believe you purchased one of these sticks correct? What is your experience with it? What I'm trying to figure out is, is this really an FM tuner? Does it have antenna? Or does it connect to your car antenna? How well does it pick up far away stations? Does this stick rely on any internet connection at all? Is there any software/UI currently made for it? If so, is it mobile friendly (easy to use while driving)? I'm just trying to decide if I want to just purchase one of these myself, and try and get something working.

@Chrisfromwa
True i bought 2 of them. It has an antenna input connector. Tjere is some software available from sundtek but it's very buggy. They just pushed out a beta to test the FM and DAB functionality. I just tested it in my livingroom. It received and played all stations i was able to find with usual radio too. Also DAB was working without problems. It took round about 5 months to receive the dongles but i guess that this problem is solved in the meantime. I also thought about an external application which would be another solution but didn't find time yet. The best solution would be an integrated app in openauto. Anyway they offer a wiki where you can find the commands to control the stick. So it is possible to program an app. As far as i found out this stick only offers FM and DAB not internet. The antenna connector at the dongle looks like this: https://www.google.de/search?q=antenna+connectors&prmd=isvn&sxsrf=ACYBGNTAzfv_W7WDoJT0u1lE8F4x5IXm-g:1573316437638&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjfyIm7xN3lAhUBKuwKHU8_BQkQ_AUoAXoECA4QAQ&biw=412&bih=702#imgrc=KvUifCVNkwy_yM&imgdii=7wqeYJpMLLHGlM |
