Is there anyone who can explain this to me? I am a starter. ㅜ ㅜ

PlasmaFlow,
thanks for posting this, it's just what I was looking for. I am not familiar with Raspian more than a basic level. Perhaps you or someone else would be good enough to instruct me how to copy the files as you listed in your Readme section. I was successful making the directory and downloading the zip file. However I was not able to unzip or copy the contents to the directory - I get a message that I don't have permission to copy or unzip to that folder. I don't have the proper privileges and I don't know how to proceed. I tried unzipping to another folder (downloads) and that was successful so I tried copying the files over, same thing. Can someone help with this? Thanks in advance.

Edit Reason: Figures half of it out.

Sorry in advance for the newbie question as I am probably missing something simple.
I am trying to set up my TSL2561 and I am lost how to get it to interact with my openauto pro 3.3.1 Could you please point me in the right direction to getting this sensor working correctly? EDIT: I now have the light sensor adjusting the brightness automatically as per the previous posts instructions but I still can't get openauto and aa to automatically switch between day/night mode.

In openauto_system.ini file you can find two entries regarding that LightSensorMinRange=0 LightSensorMaxRange=30000 Those values depend on particular sensor. As a first shot you can try to decrease max range to e.g. 100. I have tried a large range of numbers in both the min&max still with no success. Any additional help you can offer me would be appreciated. Here are some of my results: openauto_system.ini
service lightsensor status
Log:
Using external light sensor service and OpenAuto Pro service together is not good idea. There is no driver that is able to multiplex access to the sensor and each process needs to setup sensor and access its data separately that may interfere among. We suggest to use only OpenAuto Pro or your external sensor service at the same time.
Also according to the config that you posted, it looks like Threshold value is set incorrectly. It is a percentage value that indicates when read value from the sensor should be considered as day or night, e.g. SensorMinRange=0 SensorMaxRange=200 SensorThreshold=30 Night mode will be activated when value read from sensor will be in range <0, 60> and day will be activated in range (60, 200>.
Sorry to be such a bother. I really love the OpenAuto Pro software.
I finally figured out my mistake. I was changing LightSensorAddress to 39 I didn't realise the 57 default was the decimal value for 0x39. With this correctly setup day night is working good now. Does your sensor service also control the screen brightness? If not does open auto look for a night_mode_enabled file so I can just modify the external service to create one? P.S. Thanks again for your patience I know you have many other things to do than assist me with this, and sorry for the newbie questions.

Screen brightness script has to be applied by each user as some of screens require additional hardware.
In case you are using official RPI screen there should be no issue with getting script from internet and adapt it for your solution. You can check this: https://bluewavestudio.io/community/show...hp?tid=672&highlight=screen+brightness |
