Has anyone tried using a Pi UPS for the safe shutdown? From what I'm reading, the stock scripts would allow for it to shut off gracefully when it loses power without any residual parasitic drain on the system.j My thinking is using the 12V accessory line to a buck converter to 5V for the Pi, the UPS "allegedly" detects when that power would no longer be there, and then can gracefully shut down via the stock scripts, and powers back on when power is restored. It also comes with an RTC on it, so that would knock out two birds with one stone so to speak.
Feel free to tell me I'm silly, I'm far from an electrical dude and I'm sure I've overlooked something.
