I recently got a nice XK - back when it was new the first owner specced it up with every high tech toy you could image. That time was a long time ago.
I lucked out on a couple of things - Finding a screen with a DSI connector that is about the same size as the OEM screen and finding a template someone did to mount a bigger screen proud of the facia.
So first a couple of pics of the car

Now the facia i found this - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4186500/files
After some modifications it has changed to this

-Made the screen hole fit the screen i have
-modified the parts that usually have the satnav controls to give me a flat part I can mount a rotary encoder and mic to
-raised up the screen location to make it fit more flush to the OEM trim
So on with the test fitting.
-unclip the wood trim - as you can see the OEM satnav facia unit just screws in so unscrew it
-screw in my facia and put the wood trim back over it

Now for this test everything is just stuffed in the glovebox, the audio out is fed into a tape adapter to go into the cassette player and the power is straight out of the cigarette lighter
To do
-hard wire its power in, luckily behind the glovebox is a permanent live, switched live and ground that I can tap into and if i can find it I have a Mausberry power supply for it
-Find a better way to feed audio into the OEM stereo - I found that the OEM changer can be hacked so I can use that as a RCA in
-Modify the facia for a rotary encoder to make it easier to skip tracks (the screen is only 5inch so its a bit small)
-Reprint it in higher quality, then flock it
-Configure the OBDII connection
Then the rest of the install
