I can't remember but I think it was in one of the updates of a 8.x version where in the update script installed pulseaudio (maybe a update?) since then I have this problems.
But I have make a fresh install of the V11 on a other SD card and it doesn't solve the problem. So I thought OAP used ALSA before. I don't have changed the Hardware and buyed several BT sticks but nothing helps.
Thanks.. It did help a lot, but crackling still happens when in AA.
As a matter of facts, when I connect my phone to usb I get this message "Couldn't find matching udev device".
any help? gracias
OK, so I went into raspberry pi to try to make the line changes to pulse audio as stated since I am having the same cracking and popping noises from the audio playing but i get Permission denied from the command /home/pi/.config/pulse/default.pa
How do I get permission to edit that line in the folder?

Well, right, my mistake I should have said file. I try to open the file but get permission denied.
Also, are you saying I should use sudo to gain access to the file? Kind of confusing wording...
PulseAudio configuration file can be edited without sudo. If it requires root permissions, you probably ran the update script using sudo which broke the permissions of the config file. You can still use the sudo, fix permissions of the file or reflash the SD card.
Nice thank you fixed my problem. Had some mildly infuriating crackling noises i could hear only in some more quiet songs. At first i thought it had to be the wireless connection since it didn't happen if i played a local song or used a usb cable. Took me a few days to look into it and trying a few different hardware configs until i found this.
