Here's my project in the works
1995 Mazda Miata, turbo'd with an MS3X running engine duties
Current OAP setup
-Raspberry Pi4
-PiFi DAC+
-Mausberry 3A powersupply with safe shutdown, upgraded with a 5amp buck converter
-RTC
-Generic USB mic
-7" 1024x600 touchscreen
-Custom designed 3d printed bezel
This project has gone through a ton of revisions and its still not technically installed, but its close! I originally started with a 3b but it was too slow for my taste. My original bezel design was remixed from a couple different pieces I found online, but the fitment was not good. Installed photo is of original bezel; you can see the spacing between the trim vehicle trim and the LCD. I struggled through Tinkercad and eventually came up with an original design I was much happier with (photo mounted on wooden stand).
The more fun part of this - I can run my tuning software on it! Not that I'd like to make major adjustments to an ECU table by touchscreen, but being able to monitor and run datalogging and autotuning without having to remember a laptop is great!
(not shown) I added a pair of USB ports inside the center console for connecting my phone to, along with having a wired connection directly to the ECU when needed.
