Hi dears,
First thing, I'm sorry, I don't enjoy jumping on a forum just to ask for help as the first thing. That said, I'm lost on something and I don't know where to start.
I have an android headunit on my car (an Avin unit, just to be more specific), and the unit is cool and works superfine with my car, my problem is that in my other car I have a pioneer nex unit with android auto wireless, and I love how it works, it is amazing getting into the car and the phone connecting automatically without getting it out of my pocket. The avin unit has no way yet (neither with a dongle) to have android auto wireless, the option is to use the AAGateway, but apparently that requires my pixel to be rooted, which I don't want to do.
So, my plan is to get a dedicated screen for android auto on the top of the car, connected to the aux input of the android head unit for audio purposes.
Now my set of questions:
Thanks for any ideas, or brainstorming, I was going over this idea for a few days already and I'm starting to feel lost on what is the right thing to do.

- is there a way in android to set the audio policies so one of the inputs is threaten as a permanent guidance voice input (Not sure it is the official name).
I was looking on information on this matter but from what I read I never understood it can be done.
- Is there a way I can set the screen so it only turns on if it is touched or if android auto gets started wireless automatically?
- If I don't get the aux audio input to work as a guidance voice, I could program something that switches automatically to the aux input app on the head unit when called from the openauto unit, as far as there is a way I can sense when android auto wireless is started. I could otherwise check when the phone is gets connected to the hotspot, but I take that one as plan B as that is not guarantee that AAWireless was actually started..
