I was getting assistant to pop up and listen (Ok Google) while plugged into OAP and running Android Auto on my Samsung Galaxy 8 but it would not follow command , just hung about for five or six seconds then disappeared. The mic did not send sound out through the sound card to outgoing calls.I tried all sorts of suggested fixes from the so called Google experts in that forum . Uninstalling Google and Voice Assistant , reinstalling , re updating from play store but that did not work. Trying another USB cable , that did not work. Resetting app permissions due to possible conflict. That did not work. Eventually i came across the stereo mic fix and it worked.
When not plugged into OAP assistant worked great connected by bluetooth.
I wonder how many others get stuck on this ??

The bluetooth dongle supports HID, 24-Bit CRC, AFH, EDR, Advanced Audio Processing, AVRCP, A2DP, DUN-GW, HSP, HFP A2DP AVTCP, FTP, OPP, Audio-GW, FAX, BPP . I thought that could be the issue but no.Possibly the USB audio converter but i did not have another one to check it.
My mic is mono and works flawlessly .
