V4l2 works in VLC but not in OpenAuto Pro
#1
Hi all,
I hope you are all doing well.

I'm able to play my usb camera from vlc using the following command:
clvc v4l2:///dev/video0
but the problem is that when I close it it gives me this error:
[ae1275a8] xcb_window window error: X server failure

Also a black screen is display when I use the rear camera option in OpenAuto Pro.

Is there a way to configure my usb camera correctly?
maybe the issues are related?

Thanks!
Stay safe!

For now what I did was to install "v4l2loopback-dkms"

Code:
sudo apt-get install v4l2loopback-dkms

Then in cron I added this line
Code:
@reboot sudo modprobe v4l2loopback video_nr=5 && ffmpeg -i /dev/video0 -f v4l2 -pix_fmt yuv420p /dev/video5

to reflect those change to the system configuration of openauto I did the following.
Code:
cd /home/pi/.openauto/config/
nano openauto_system.ini

and edited the line DeviceDescriptor=v4l2:///dev/video0 to:
Code:
DeviceDescriptor=v4l2:///dev/video5

It sure use some CPU time (2%) but at lease I don't have to buy a new camera and cables.
Hope this help others to support other USB camera.

If someone else has another solution that will have less impact on performance I'm open to try it Smile

Thanks!

What camera are you using?

Are you using any kind of video capture card?
