Hello. I use a Waveshare 7inch HDMI LCD © (1024x600) display and a raspberry pi 4 with 4GB and I need help to adjust the brightness of it.
I already red this thread and infact I have the same problem in the starting up of the rainbow screen.

First of all, the screen and the touch worked well without installing any driver so I didn’t followed the steps on the wiki of the manufacturer.
Now the problem is that the brightness control interface in the top bar is naturally not working. I think is because it is programmed to work with the original rpi screen.
So I checked in the wiki and I found that my screen comes with a PWM pad to solder and connect to a PWN pin of the rpi.
Here is the wiki for this display if it can be useful:
https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/7inch_HDMI_LCD_©
This is the link of the modification:
https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/File:PWM_...manual.pdf
It says:
Execute commands on Terminal of Raspbian to adjust the backlight
Is there a way to implement this code, or another method, to the default brightness control of AOP?
Thanks in advance for any help.

gpio -g pwm 18 1024

gpio pwmc 1000
gpio -g pwm 18 X #change the brightness, X ranges 400~500
