Hi. I have installed the Raspberry PI and safe shutdown circuit now finally after mounting the circuit and the PI in the past week. The setup is so that its not permanently fix, the reason be to gain easy access to the setup if I need to work on the PI or for any other reason. The setup was tested and is working. I gave about 10 seconds for the setup to initiate the shutdown after the ignition is turned of, I could have made it less, but I have taken into account the power bump when the car is started. After 10 seconds the shutdown script is running and after another 15 seconds the PI is completely shutdown. I have set the timer to 35 seconds given enough time for the how system to shut down, before all power is cut to the setup.
My main aim is to use the setup up to run my OBD2 system of the vehicle through a Bluetooth dongle, like I have done with a tablet, and to use it for my navigation setup. The OBD2 setup will be mirrored through Open Auto Pro from my Android phone running Torque Pro.
