Here is my project taking shape after working on it for quite sometime. I kept the original radio but built a hinge over it to hold the display and fold up to access the radio buttons.
PI 3B+
7 Inch HDMI display
USB Hub
External Bluetooth Dongle
External USB Sound Card for audio output to car and Mic input
12V relay for display power control
12V Timer relay for delayed PI shutdown (Basically what happen here is : when power to ACC is lost meaning when key is turned off, the 12V relay will trigger GPIO signal and PI will cut the HDMI signal to the display, this will make the display to go to sleep( built in function of the display), but the PI remain powered for about 30min... if power get restored before the 30 min the 12V relay will send the signal and PI will restore the HDMI signal and things are back to normal... but if ACC power is not restored, PI will shutdown after 30min and 2 min later the timer relay will cut all power to the PI).
Reverse camera is still a work in progress...
Want to say thank you to BWS for the software job and everyone on this forum for your input and inspiration..
