I seem to be having an issue getting appropriate power so I figured I'd ask what others have done. I'm still currently bench testing but I have a Pi3B+ with 7" touch screen, rearview cam with HDMI extension, using onboard audio for the moment and a powered usb hub.
I have a proto board that has a power supply which is adjustable. I also have a jumper pack which is 12V. For some reason, I cannot seem to get the undervoltage error to go away (unless I use the AC adapter from mains power which isn't going to be an option when I install).
I've tried using a breadboard, then soldering wires directly to the USB cable. I have tried two different USB cables as well. I am working with a 10A Uxcell power converter which should be more than enough.
I know this is a popular power converter so if anyone has some tips, please enlighten me.
