The installation of the Open Auto Pro v4.0 worked flawlessly, but then I saw that an external Bluetooth dongle should be incorporated to the system to enable all functions.
My endeavours in this area were unsuccessful.
In an effort to get the external USB set up on my Open Auto Pro v4.0. While successful in pairing the Google Pixel 2xl to the system and playing audio, for some reason would NOT start Android Auto. I tried various( maybe too many) settings on my phone to get this to work, but no success.
I uninstalled ALL Bluetooth connections including the on-board bluetooth system.
This still would not start Android Auto on the head-unit. I have checked the settings, that I know of, to get it to respond, but to no avail...; I am now "up the creek, without a paddle"
What would be the best way to resolve this issue: Should I re-image to SD card and start over? what about the Google phone settings.. I really am at a loss not to mention frustrated at my stupidity.
Can anyone help guide me through this mess to get the system working again..
Thanking you
John
