display RPI temperature on screen - totorus - 08-15-2021

Hello

I would like to display the CPU temperature on the bar at the top of the screen.

I thought that the "Show temperature" option allowed this but it is not the case.
It seems to be for an external temperature sensor.

Does anyone know how to do this please? I couldn't find anything in the forum or the user manual.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I like this idea - hope someone looks at it. an optional Pi temp on the menu bar would be handy.

You could consider making a simple python app that would display the temp, and then launch is from an Application shortcut.

I wired up the temp sensor (described in the user guide I think) and just angled it into the area between the Pi and the audio HAT I'm using. That way I can see what the temp is inside the area where the Pi is, and then when I'm using AndroidAuto I can see the outside temp on there.
