AndroidAuto - my phone cannot connect - Sylwekkk18 - 07-29-2021

Hello, I have a problem with android auto on Raspberry Pi 4B

When I connect the phone with a usb cable to the raspberry, the android auto does not work, two errors are shown and two options are displayed: "resume" and "day / night". And via wifi, I don't know how to set the support.

What screen model do you use? Please check if your phone has enabled file transfer/Android Auto mode when it is connected via USB.

I use a usb touch screen stuck to the audi mmi 2g high display connected via hdmi.
The phone is set to transfer data, and when I connect it, it shows only a black screen or it does not connect at all.

The touch screen in openauto works without any problem.

What is the screen resolution set in your system?

The screen is 7 inches and has a resolution of 1280 × 1024. 1280 × 1024 is set on raspberry os.

But the open auto icons display properly and the touchscreen works too, so what screen does the android auto have to do?

The resolution may not be supported by the Hardware Acceleration layer and Android Auto projection will not be rendered. Did you modify any config file? Please post content of /boot/config.txt file.

Is that whole config.txt content? We do not see FKMS driver entry. Is it enabled in the system? It is mandatory to use FKMS driver with the PI4. Also framebuffer settings are deprecated in the Pi4 (which requires FKMS driver). If you want to modify the resolution, you must do it by custom hdmi_cvt mode, not by the framebuffer settings.

But the picture is okay I want to know why the phone won't connect to androidauto.

PS. How can I connect openauto to the internet to make youtube work and how can I connect androidauto to the phone via wifi

RE: AndroidAuto did not work - BlueWave - 07-30-2021

It is not okay, because without FKMS driver enabled it is impossible to use hardware acceleration layer and render z Android Auto projection. You must enable the FKMS driver first.
