widescreen for Raspberrypi - Shadowtm - 05-03-2021

Hello,
I want to try OpenAutoPro and need a display for my Raspberrypi.
But I want to keep my OEM radio in my Golf 6 and want to mount a display above the air vents.
For that I need a wide screen display since it would otherwise obstruct too much vision.
I found some displays that looked promising but were kinda expensive and seemed inpractical just like this one:

So do you know any displays that are similar to this with touchscreen for a reasonable price ?
A case for the display would also be nice.
Thanks in advance.

Edit:
Something like that would be perfect:

Hi,
i have tried some widescreen displays (21:9 and more) and it always will look a bit distorted.
As you can see here: https://bluewavestudio.io/community/showthread.php?tid=2416
Because Android Auto is broadcasting it with 1920x1080 always (or 720p or 480p but always in 16:9), and OAP uses that stream and shows it fullscreen without letterboxes on your screen.
So you are probably better off using a 16:9 display. 16:10 will also work perfectly fine if you enable the top bar for android auto, and something very close to 16:9 but for example 8:3 (your first display you posted) would look exactly as distorted as on my screen (also has 8:3 aspect ratio) on my first post in that other thread.
The screen below that looks also like something in this area of aspect ratio, so expect some distortion.

Hey, thanks for the answer.
what about the screen used in their videos, that looks pretty nice and with Apple Carplay it looks like it works even better.

My only issue with that screen is the resolution.
480p is not exactly a lot.

Apple Carplay seems to work fine with widescreen. so if you use just that it seems to work fine.
But on Android Auto i haven't had a great experience. because of the distortion, touch input is very difficult. In the video only non touch input is shown.
But you can try it.

RE: widescreen for Raspberrypi - Shadowtm - 05-04-2021

Does someone have experience with this Screen ?
https://aliexpress.com/item/4000479971846.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.17222e0eszf12O

Is there any chance that the issue with the stretch in android auto is gonna be fixed any time soon ?
Or maybe give us the ability to make a splitscreen where 16:9 is AndroidAuto and 5:9 is musicplayer or anything else ?

Edit:
There are already widescreen Android Auto Displays like with BMWs:

Will this be a feature in the future ?
