Seicane Android Head Unit as Display - maxchu765@gmail.com - 08-28-2020

Does anyone know if the cheap Android head units from companies like Seicane could be used as a display for OAP?
Stuff like this:

The screen is already very nicely integrated into the dashboard fascia piece and is larger than a screen that would fit in a double din. They also don't cost much more than the screens that are commonly used for OAP. From what I have read, they are essentially a cheap android tablet, so they aren't very good as actual head units. I would much prefer to use the OAP software. Has anyone had any experience with one of these units? Is there some way of connecting a raspberry pi directly to the screen? Are there driver boards commonly available for the LCDs?

You can use vnc and connect the raspberry audio out to headunit audio in but Raspberry and car headunit must be connected in the same wifi network and isn't always fluid

That's an interesting option, but it seems like there would be too many performance issues. Youtube videos of the head units show them to be pretty laggy and adding vnc would only make it worse. I would like to avoid dealing with the Seicane software completely.

I'm trying something similar.
I installed a 7 inch Android tablet in the car.
it works best with the vnc which can be activated pre-installed. Unfortunately, the mouse pointer moves with the viewer no matter where I touch the tablet.

Since I only want the button to be pressed exactly where I tap it and not where the mouse pointer is at the moment, I have some problems other viewers work like a touchpad, but the performance is not good. too much delay.
can I somehow adjust this touchpad function in the vcn? Chrome remote desktop would be best, but that doesn't seem to work on the Raspberry.
I have the best performance with Chrome when I operate my Windows computer with the tablet.
Nobody knows a trick to use Chrome remotely with chromium right?
Thank you
