AA over wifi build question - Ace - 11-30-2019

Hi,

Planning on doing the following build, any feedback on any problems would be much appreciated:

Hardware:
RPi 3B
RPi Official touchscreen
GROM Audio BT3 (Bluetooth A2DP kit with mic input)
Android phone

What I'd like to do is:
1. RPi connect via Bluetooth to the GROM and have audio input and output run through A2DP.
2. RPi connect via Wi-Fi to phone via phone hotspot and run AA

Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible. The only thing you have to do is disable Music and Speech channels in OpenAuto Pro settings.

Thank you - from what I understand this means the phone would be connected to the Bluetooth audio and not the RPi, is this right? So I am thinking if I want seamless audio (pipe through phone when AA is connected and play RPi audio through Bluetooth when standalone) I would just have to run a script when AA connects and disconnects to change the Music Channels setting and Bluetooth connection. Is this correct? Do I need an external sound card if I want to do this?
