I may be forgetting something I'm sure
I started out with Crankshaft and didn't like it. I came across a video on open auto pro and never looked back. I cut a set of rca's to go from line out on my eq to the factory infinity amp. Everything is working great. I need to finish up getting my EQ in its little cubby hole and run my backup camera. Other than that everything is working. I have 2 relays I am currently using for backup camera and power off signal. I used modified versions of the scripts provided in this video to make it work:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMvMXd4RvdA&t=898s
Issues I had:
Found out you need a usb sound card as the built in sound card in the pi does weird stuff with the EQ (couldn't control volume, eq, or anything)
needed a ground loop isolator to get engine noise out of the audio
Need an external BT adapter to get calling working
Need a powered usb hub as the Pi deosn't have enough power to plug my phone in and run the screen
Screen has to be plugged into pi or else the touch portion does not work
Recommendations:
Wish I had the ability to add a shortcut to the applications list
Day/night mode like Crankshaft (that is the only thing I liked about Crankshaft)
GPIO assignments menu of some sort to do different things like shutdown or reverse camera or day/night things like that
Keep up the good work Devs!!!
Future for this setup:
Better Mic?
get a front camera setup as a dvr
get Kodi configured how I would like
Setup Hotspot for internet access
Steering wheel controls working?
possibly get a hifi audio hat for the pi
Get some sort of day/night script with relay on my headlight switch working (to dim the screen at night)
Make wiring more permanent (solder connections) and clean
